PrinciplesPerformance domains

The course addresses project management principles, techniques and tools, methodologies, hard (science) and soft (art) aspects, using a step-by-step ''methodology'' to lead teams and deliver successful projects. Courseware includes definitions, checklists, examples, templates, videos and webinars. Participants apply project management tools and techniques to current or planned projects.

The BSB40920 - Certificate IV in Project Management Practice course is based upon / consistent with:

  • A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) 6th & 7th Edition
  • AIPM Professional Competency Standards for Project Management – Certified Practising Project Practitioner
  • ISO 21500 Project Management
  • ICB IPMA Competence Baseline

Qualification Description  

This qualification is suitable for autonomous individuals who identify and apply project management skills and knowledge in a wide variety of contexts. Job titles for these roles may include contracts officers, project administrators, quality officers and small business operators.

Individuals in these roles might be members of a project team, with no direct responsibility for overall project outcomes. Primarily, these roles would support wider project operations. They may use project tools and methodologies selectively to support organisational or business activities.

Award Options

Upon satisfying criteria candidates are awarded BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice.

On completion delegates are eligible to apply for AIPM’s RegPM Certification at Certified Practicing Project Practitioner (CPPP) level when applying for Associate Membership. 

The Assessment Process

Undertaking activities related to a project from start to finish. AGS provides templates, examples, checklists. Templates are filled-in during workshop activities and completed post-workshop. Delegates may work on case studies or real workplace projects, in teams or on their own. Workplace templates/ deliverables may also be used for evidence.

Completion of an Assessment Record Book (ARB), primarily answering knowledge and understanding questions (no exam!). This is typically completed post workshop. It takes anything from 10 to 100 hours to complete post-workshop activities (ie templates and ARB as outlined above) depending upon several factors including experience, work pace, tasks completed in the workshop, use of workplace evidence etc.

Course Outcomes

On finishing this course, participants should be able to contribute to the definition, planning, implementation, control and successful completion of projects or project manage simple projects from start to finish.

Apply project management functions, tools and techniques to current or future projects
Provide a practical methodology to support the initiation, development, implementation and finalisation of projects which satisfy the requirements of the client and other key stakeholders.

Qualification

AGS deliver the training and undertake assessments via Agreement with a Registered Training Organisation.
The Qualification is awarded by the Registered Training Organisation. After completing workshops delegates have 12 months to submit evidence. Evidence may be submitted as soon as it has been completed. Laptop/tablets at workshops aid evidence generation.
